Job Description
Assists the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Services department in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
Essential Duties include but not limited to
- Provide clinical oversight.
- Manage emergency situations and provide on-call support.
- Review and coordinate individualized care, assessments, and medication administration records.
- Participate in quality improvement programs to enhance safety, reduce risks, and improve resident outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including participating in surveys.
- Assist with establishing and updating policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, including resident assessments, clinical forms, and incident reports.
- Aid with training, mentoring, and evaluating staff, including managing schedules and assignments.
- Act as a liaison between families, physicians, and staff regarding changes in resident condition.
- May provide direct nursing care & work beyond normal working hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Acts in an administrative/management capacity in the absence of the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator
